Amazon kündigt Video Skill API an

Amazon kündigt heute auf seinen Blog eine Video Skill API an. Durch diese API soll es möglich sein, direkt mit Videoinhalten über Alexa zu interagieren. Damit soll es möglich sein, dass beliebige (Drittanbieter) Inhalte aufgerufen und gesteuert werden können. Zudem soll, so wie ich es verstanden habe, dies auch für andere Geräte als die Fire TVs möglich sein.

Wann das Ganze nach Deutschland kommt und inwieweit es direkt allen Entwicklern zugänglich ist, ist natürlich wieder mal unklar.

Today we announced the Video Skill API, a new addition to the Alexa Skills Kit, which enables developers to add capabilities, called skills, to Alexa. Companies can now teach Alexa how to interface with their video content and services. This means you can build experiences that allow your customers to easily find and consume video content without invoking a specific skill. For example, a customer could say, “Alexa, play Manchester by the Sea” without specifying a provider or device. Through the Video Skill API, Alexa is aware of the video devices and services your customer has or subscribes to. You create skills that connect your applications directly to Alexa’s video capabilities so that customers can control your content—without lifting a finger.

So sollte es dann endlich möglich sein seinen FireTv Stick über den Echo zu steuern wenn ich das richtig verstehe oder ?

Kurze Frage von einem Laien....
Wenn die API von Amazon zur Verfügung gestellt wurde...installiert sich der Service selber auf den Echo oder wie kann ich API´s aktivieren ?

Gibt es eine Anleitung auf Deutsch ?

Als Endverbraucher kannst Du mit der API als solches nichts anfangen. Entwickler können damit entsprechende Funktionen realisieren und bspw. als Skill veröffentlichen.

Es hörte sich in den Medienberichten so an als wenn das eine neue Funktion für ALEXA wird und man dann nicht mehr alles über IFFT etc. machen muss.
